huntnphool just admit u were wrong holy crap man the buck was scored by an official pope & young scorer the guy has been doing it for years im pretty sure he is a little better at it than you! you have not even seen the buck!
Sorry AK, I just don't see it but I'll tell you what. You make arrangements to have it dropped off and scored at the sportsman show in Puyallup this year. If it indeed scores 210" I'll pay to have it entered into the book right there myself.

Dont sweat it.  You are never going to convince everyone, regardless of the proof you have.  It's just too bad that some try to cast a cloud over such a great animal and the experience.  Congrats to Ryan.  I can see why so many stories and great animals never get shared on here.

It sure is funny that guys will still argue about a buck even after they see the official score sheet.  I guess if a mule deer isn't 35 inches wide and being long armed in the picture then it must be only a 170 inch deer.  Some guys are just plain crazy.  Congrats to the hunter on a fine trophy!

Nobody is saying its not a nice buck, we all are entitled to our own opinions on what people post up as scores.

No kidding HUNT. It's like a bunch of 6 year olds on here.

Poor UptheCreek gets on here and asked a QUESTION about a 200" buck and he gets blasted by the horn whores on here. Now it was scored officially and they still question it.
Unreal.

Now for some facts. It will be entered in the NW Big Game book and it will be #1 today. There isn't a category for Velvet Mule Deer in the 3rd edition printed in 2011. The official scorer called and asked about it,and "no one has ever entered one so send it in". So in 5 more years when the 4 edition comes out it might be #1 or #10. It is a 210" deer NET(no fish here) doesn't matter where it's at. It is what it is. No the pictures don't do it justice. But that doesn't matter either, well except to some phools.

The story and pictures will be in the Mule Deer issue or as Eastman's people call it "The Granddaddy Issue of the Year". It will hit the stands on Jan 15th. Now about the quote about the Eastman's Tour, it is being considered for the tour and in our mind, well we're not holding our breath.

Will it be in Puyallup's Sportsman show. We were thinking about it but after this forum don't know. We might get talked into taking it to Puyallup because the hunting partner that was involved in this hunt lives close by. What do you think RBlue? We will take it to the Big Horn Show in Spokane.

The last fact is my kid killed one hell of a deer. It scores 210. So keep casting the clouds over it if it makes you feel better.

You tell your kid that it is an amazing buck and that I am his number 1 fan    And then get him to tell me exactly where he shot it  :chuckle: But really, it is a great buck, and I think some are just jealous on here. I really wish that I could see it, but I live nowhere near Puyallup or Spokane  :P If I did live near Puyallup, I would be begging you to take it.

no the velvet stayed

I did not see where the 5% velvet deduction was applied :dunno:

I also thought the minimum for P&Y non-typical Muledeer was 12-4/8".  I'm not trying to be a naysayer.  Just wanting to know how it made it into the non-typical category and whether the 5% velvet deduction was represented in that score.  Just so I can understand the full scope of the measuring on this fantastic buck.

I doubt I would have stripped the velvet either.  Just wouldn't be the same deer mounted without it.

I am thrilled to see such an outstanding animal coming from a Washington State bowhunter.  That is a stud of a buck.  The likes of which I will probably never set eyes on in the field.  I'm very, very happy for the hunter.  What an accomplishment!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Good job RadSav, you know your p and y scoring. It needs 12.5 of nt points to be an official nt score. That is something I, and many others didn't know. AK and wide bear are right, the velvet stays on so it couldn't be a record anyways. I was hoping to keep it off the Internet until it was official to stop 15 pages of bs like this . Unfortunately when the wife put it on her face book the damage was done. The facts are its a big *censored*, and some of you should not try and score off of a pictures.

Mule deer can have no more then 5 normal points, including brow point (G-1) and main beam tip (G-2) per side. That long drop tine is a deduct unless you chose non-typical. It's up to the owner to chose typical or non-typical.
