You went into the woods without a gun?  Are you nuts?  What if you had stumbled into a pot grow or something?  I never go out in the boonies without a gun--and it's not the 4-legged critters I worry about.  I've met a lot of wierd people out in the woods in my time, and knowing I was armed was very comforting!
