Sorry you ran into a couple of *censored*s, but way more of us appreciate the ability to hear the story.

Ignore the couple of idiots and let the rest of us live a little vicariously thru your buddies hunt.

I would LOOOOOOOVE to draw that tag!   And I'd tell a couple of whiny idiots on this thread to piss up a rope when I shared my story of a legal hunt.......   Just sayin'.......     :IBCOOL:

A buddy that works there said it tried to run though a culvert and snapped his neck.

People on here just don't understand all the different rules on each of the Hancock lands.  Chill a little people.   I'm curious what he'll shoot in there, I've spent some time in there  ;)

I doubt we'll see any pics after the couple of d-bags ruined the thread

Against my better judgement...I got a lot of PM's from people who were pretty dissapointed....

Tag holder saw a 5 point today, but he wasn't going to hang a tag on him on day 2.  The sun is keeping them bedded down during the day.  They aren't talking a whole lot either right now.

Thanks Silk!

I'm looking forward to seeing pics when the deal is sealed.    I love seeing pics form that hunt.......   Hoping someday it might be me.

If the internet-hunt-police show up, just tell them you're too bust taping a flashlight to your bow to answer them.   That ought to put them off in a tizzy for a bit.       :yeah: :yeah:

From Hancock:

"Yes, we have allowed  3 Special Draw Elk Hunters onto the tree farm, we have briefed them on the expectations of allowing them on the tree farm during this high fire danger time.

We will do our best to get to you guys in for hunting this next weekend.  We are hoping for somefall later this week. "

....as for the rest of us that spent $$$  - we're screwed I guess.

Silk - you have my apologies.  I'm assuming your buddy is one of the 3 -  should be a pleasant hunt with nobody else in there.  Please do continue on with the stories!   :brew:

I also received a PM apology from another.  It's good to see people "manning" up and admitting to their mistakes, no hard feelings.

I haven't heard anything from the hunter this morning, but I literally just woke up 5 minutes ago.  I'll see if I can't get some info and pass it along to you guys.

Even if there were no fire danger kapowsin would be shut down to everyone but these three guys anyways. It says so right in the rules when you buy the permit. I don't know why people are so butt hurt about this. I hope all three hunters tag a monster. GOOD LUCK!

Good luck to him, i definitely wouldn't be shooting a 5 point with that tag. I have a couple trail cam photos of some truly giant bulls from kapowsin.

He saw a five point this morning. Headed out now for the afternoon hunt. Just a little background, this hunter is a local guy who hadn't put in for a few years. I talked him into going again this year and low and behold he draws! He has been up in those woods a lot since he found out. I've seen some really nice bulls on camera, and so I'm sure he's frustrated he hasn't been able to locate one with a gun in hand. He still has 4.5 days though...

I think you might be right... You don't know why people are butt hurt.  We're butt hurt because we lost our entire early season due to closures, and didn't realize some of the special tag holders were allowed in.

So in short, I made a mistake in assuming that when Hancock posts this: "All areas are temporarily CLOSED for ALL recreation access due to high fire danger", it meant for everyone.  The reality is that they meant everyone EXCEPT those three guys.

Silk - again buddy sorry for jacking your thread.  My mistake.

Curtis
