peaches ridge pics and story

Got to little naches on sat 29 about 9:30 am dropped off trailer and headed out to scout, heard a few bulls before dark. Next morning same thing bulls answer very fast looks like it's going to be a good hunt. Monday morning we go on a road we haven't been on not sure why but we call and a bull answers back a long ways away.So we decide to look around some more first day and all. We drive up the road , park the truck walk a ways bugle and two bulls answer.I call the one in to about 80 yards but it hangs up so i tell partner to put the sneak on it works perfect 30 yards but he passes on a huge 5x5 .About hour later call again another bugle we close in this bull is going nuts but he won't come out and show himself so i cow call and cow call he just bugles and beats the crap out of a tree. I decide to bugle this works he screams and starts to move toward us, Partner can't see him but i can, really tall and heavy but not wide i watch as he comes down the hill i whisper he's at least a six point shoot, nothing happens he comes closer i see three points on top of his left i say 6x7 shoot, Nothing happens so i think to small for him so i decide to shoot 25 yards just as i squeeze the trigger a tree jumps out of nowhere and i kill it. But at this time i did not know i shot a tree so bull walks up the hill stops about 35 yards partner hands me his gun i say no hes dead i watch him walk up the hill waiting for him to fall , then i come to the conclusion he must of laid down because we never heard him fall . Better give him some time so we went back to the truck got pack boards and came back just to find i killed a tree. So if he is still walking shoot him again!!!!! We got on more bulls during the week just couldn't get them out in the open. Had one windy day and next was smokey . so friday a buddy of mine comes over we go out, calls in a 5x5 partner shoots it but thats his story. Saturday morning last day for me we get up to a spot lots of rubs let out a bugle get a answer and were off again we follow this bull calling and he answers but keeps moving . Then he shuts up so i walk up the hill and get busted deal over. Then another bull starts to our left so we head that way, he bugles but not allot we get above him and he shuts up . We try some very soft cow calls and he answers so down the hill i go crunch crunch every step i check the wind check it again if this bull is as deaf as me this might work. I check the ground for places to step , look up and there he is facing me i aim make sure there are no trees in the way he turns around quarter away i shoot smoke clears hes still standing reload fire hes upside down this time reload kill shot!! Did not know i was shooting at this big of a bull, I seen bone and that was good enough . Not a monster but a good bull!!! We had a great time!!

Nice story and great bull. What a tough year, i have the rifle any bull tag for same area. I saw you drive off mountain last saturday bull in back, i was scouting. sounds like lots of bulls in that area as i saw lots of good sign but pretty sure they were in the bottoms right? If you have any tips for a worn out scouter let me know, much appreciated and enjoy those back straps my friend

Way to get it done! I love the story of the 6x7. Did you find that clearing over the hill by the three big rocks I told you about? Were they still screaming like crazy? I couldn't get the two guys I was with to go very far from the road. It was a tough hunt with them not coming in to the calls. We saw a lot of loan bulls but to far away.

Huntergreg they moved way up the draw we went up after them and they would shut up. Walk all the way back to the truck and they would bugle again kinda rub it in your face lol, but we gave it a try so thanks for the info.
