Best eating goose?

I'm new so have no idea, never even had wild goose before.  Snow or Canadian?  And is there a diff between the diff Canadians? Like cackling over western?

Speck is the best eating goose anf there is no such thing as a canadian goose unless it lives in canada.........................they are Canada Geese not Canadian Geese :tung:

Marinate in Italian dressing, wrap in bacon....BBQ til bacon is done.

Never had snows but shot and ate most others.  The smaller the bird the better eating in my opinion, but there's nothing better than watching the biggest honkers dropping from the sky.

I'll agree with that order.

  I added a new bird to my list after last season.  I shot some when I was up in Saskatchewan.  Sandhill Cranes.  Very tasty!  Now I know why they are called ribeye in the sky...

Wish we had a huntable population here.

I'll agree with that order.

  I added a new bird to my list after last season.  I shot some when I was up in Saskatchewan.  Sandhill Cranes.  Very tasty!  Now I know why they are called ribeye in the sky...

Wish we had a huntable population here.

I am pretty sure Idaho has a season for them. That would be a fun hunt  :drool: :drool: :drool:

I believe the guy who ever called a crane the ribeye of the sky must of been eating a speck thinking it was a crane.  Crane ok but not even close to the taste of speck.

Dang, I found some nice big cranes, I am not sure what variety but they look like shooters to me. Too bad they aren't legal here. :( I got a pic to post though.
