Nah i seen some in the velvet this summer and i missed a masher last year....they are there just havent showed up yet...drivin me nuts

Yeah i think you're about that too, and with the full moon and now mild temps what few mature bucks that i know of have been super nocturnal

I have a tender little spike in the freezer from my boy..im holding out...i have some revege to get with a big buck from last year im hoping late buck will be the downfall for him

I have some blacktail estrus and im gonna put out a scent trail late buck...that was the downfall for my last 4pt...kept him searching in the clearcut till after daylight

saw 4 does and twin spike bucks, no mashers today though. I think this wacky weather has fouled up the early rut.

I just got trail cam pictures of a decent blacktail last night, but in the middle of the night. This buck I only got pictures of once before, and that was 17 days ago. He's pretty much un-killable as far as I'm concerned. But at least I know he's there, and I have until next year to figure out where he spends his time during the day. Fortunately, I have a late deer permit for eastern Washington so there's no chance I'd use my tag on a blacktail. And thankfully, this buck isn't even close to being big enough to tempt me.
