Took a buddy out this morning to go after a 6x6 we found during deer season. Hiked in so we could be at the clearcut at first light, only to have 4 guys come riding up on quads through the clearcut in the dark. Then, they parked their quads in the middle of the road and sat there waiting to see if the elk were gonna come out into the clearcut  :bash:

That gets SOOOOOOooooo frustrating    :bash: :bash:

I know the woods belong to everyone, not just the first person there but people are so unobservant, it's ridiculous.  Good luck elk hunters, can't wait until it's my turn again!

That sucks about the quads.....what ever having respect to your fellow hunters? I know its not my land or the next persons land.....but i have respect for my fellow hunter...if i see someone hunting a certain area ill back out so i dont screw his hunt up...during deer season we had a guy park right next to us and walk down the ridge to glass the clearcut we have been watching for 4 hrs  :bash:

Ill he headin out in the morning with my son...he has a modern tag so ill take him out and try to get him his first elk...didnt get out today he had a soccer game

They did come in from a different direction so they really didn't know we were there, but the concept of driving thru the clearcut where there are supposed to be no motorized vehicles, and then sitting there expecting the elk to come out is ridiculous.

Man I'm glad that I'm not hunting modern elk!  Every yayhoo and his brother is out today.  I went into Sunbird;s in Yelm today and there were several guys buying a bunch of gear and their first ever elk tags.  I heard 2 of them ask a guy where was a good place around here to find a big bull.  LOL!!!  From the looks of it, I doubt if either one of these dudes has ever shot a rifle.
