The yakamas that go hunting of the reservation only go for one reason, and that is to trophy hunt. These guys can't find the trophy animals on the reservation because you have to get out of the truck and off the road. The biggest antlered animals I have shot have been on the reservation. Don't get me wrong I hunt off rez but I meat hunt shooting a cow or a calf. I would support  off reservation hunting restrictions, but in all honesty nothing will be done until the animals are gone. At least they haven't got all the big bulls out of the teanaway I know where 20 + big bulls are, but not to many bigger then my biggest so I will let them live.

What it's boiling down to is a tail old as time.. White telling Indians what do... " it would be the tribes best interst to enforce games laws" just like I was the tribes best interest to live on said reservations.. Bla bla bla.. You should change ur game laws so us whit guys can shoot more bulls n buck" that's what I am hearing.. I hunt my ceded land like it was my reservation bucase it was my land before it was reduced to what it is today
Are you speaking of the herds or the country? "reduced to what it is today"

Could you imagine if our government stood up and said; "We changed our mind. We whooped the natives butts outright, and now were done giving handouts that are being continuously abused." Put everyone on an equal playing field, under an equally discriminating federal/local government and see what happens. I understand that the bad is usually all we hear because thats all anyone cares about, but even through my personal experiences I have been disgusted too many times. If the good ones in the mix can't help to regulate the trash amoung them, I think big brother needs to step in. I have met and shared stories with some absolutely amazing Natives, but I'm tired of the crap. I'm not above saying there aren't plenty of trashy hunters on the WDFW side, but look how many people get reported each year by ethical hunters that either cant stand poaching, or just are looking for some incentive points. Why can't the same be done in the Native side?

do you realize you have the opportunity to help convince the tribe and the leaders it's time to cut back on the shooting?

Does your tribe have proof of ownership of all that land?

Really?  :chuckle:  It's the consumer who pays the road tax and other state taxes. About $1.00 per gallon on diesel, so it would be a little more pricey than 25 million lol. On reservations do you just not pay the local tax on fuel? You do have to pay road tax, correct?

As usual I BS.  But, that's okay some day things will come to a headway and then everybody is going to have to sit down and deal with this situation and I hope I'm here to see it.  As for those that travel outside only to trophy hunt, that's not me and you won't find me near the roads and I've seen plenty of big bulls just not an ethical shot I wanted to take.  Bobcat, ill post the map outlining the original tribes and villages tomorrow and you can see where the 14 different tribes came from.  As for the rest of this, I'm done for the night since all I've ever put on here was BS, so me and my BS will enjoy the rest of the evening away from the actual BS.
