I was looking at proposed permits for EM 65+ elk and noticed there are none for 2013.Those of you who are affected by this, should write the director and the commission voicing your view.I suggested that if there are no permits for EM 65+, then we should be allowed to apply for WM 65+.

This is not "new" for 2013. The seasons the original poster posted was for the 2012-14 seasons. Those seasons actually "started" for the 2012 season and were adopted by the WDFW in April 2012.
There were none in 2012. This change was made last year and affects the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons. WDFW sets seasons on a three year cycle. I don't believe there is any chance at all of seeing a change until the proposed 2015-2017 seasons are drafted.
I think that is part of the problem with this category system they've come-up with. It is kind of hard to have decent permit choices for all the categories they've added.

It is kind of hard to have decent permit choices for all the categories they've added. There is no need for a separate +65 category. Nor is there a reason for a disabled hunter category, or a youth category. All these permits should be included in the antlerless category. So if you write to the WDFW, don't ask for permits to be added to the 65 category. Ask that they elminate all unnecessary categories.
