I'm confused! Why do I have to be a member to purchase a item from a licensed dealer at a show? When they are going to run a backround on me to buy? That's like joining a local gun club to buy from a gun shop on the coast.
I paid my admission to gain entrance to the show and I found a item I want. Haven't I already gained entrance.

Most of the sellers at the show are not dealers. So there is no background checks by the seller, just the club when you join. That's why you are supposed to be a member to sell or buy at them, you have already been pre approved.

So what protects me from the seller not dumping a hot gun on me then? Just because they are a member!
When I make a private buy I request the serial number of the item and I will run the number before I even look at it. Is this service available to us at your show then?

I believe individuals can sell their firearms if they are a member. You can only buy/sell from to members for firearms. I think for all other items you can purchase with out being a member.  :twocents:

If you look at what is required to e a member i would say that you have a high likely hood of dealing with straight shooters.

No paperwork unless one of you request it. If I sell something that was registered in my name I always do the paperwork. Otherwise just a cash transaction

Spooky I could perhaps have bought a hot gun from you?

If you want to sell you can have a table, or you can walk around with a for sale sign in the barrel of your rifle. If you want to buy from him you have to be a member... there is no NICS check, however each of you have been through a background check at some recent venture to be eligible. ONE of the eligible ways is to have a CPL. Its all on their site.
