Randy's email is cabincreekadventures@yahoo.com

I talked to him, 100+ miles round trip by boat is a bit much for me so I might be donating a salmon fishing trip in the islands for their raffle.

I don't have a compatible boat but will see if I can beg, steal, or borrow one.

Excellent, I'll see about getting a room there myself versus driving up at 0300hrs...

Same as we were thinking, plus we will not be so tired for the all day event out on the boat either. Small price to pay the night before to ensure a full and fun day for who ever our guests may be. This is very near and dear to us, my Nephew was in Army during the early years of the Iraqi fighting. He came home safe, but for the guys and gals that were not so lucky we owe them and this is a great way to give back.

A side note**

If you have a card to get on the military bases you can book rooms at the Navy Life Gateway Inns and Suites http://www.navylifepnw.com/site/281/NGIS.aspx  I booked a suite for Cohoho and I for $60/night but they also have rooms for $45, single queen beds in both (I'm bringing a cot) !! Its the one at Smokey Point !!

Very nice facility and only 10 or so miles north of the boat launch !!
The essense of freedom is the proper limitation of government !!!

Robo,   I already got the room at the Inn for the wife and I. I am going to get the sled in on Friday night and be ready for Saturday morning. That way I can get down to the boat early, get the Chevy inboard warmed up and also get some heat in the kicker too. Get the rods onboard and all the gear ready for the day. I used to be a guide, some things are hard to change.   :chuckle:

Okay........I'm in. I've got an 18 foot North River, 90 Yam with a 9 kicker. I've got my certification card for boaters safety and over 200 hundred hours on the main motor and at least triple that on the kicker. I'm good on all gear and make a pretty mean sandwich for lunch. My hope is to have one of our wounded warriors and an additional person. I live about 10 minutes from the Everett launch and like others mentioned will be there in the early am getting motors warmed up and gear double checked. Only thing I need to do is get a modest Old Glory to fly on the water showing my support.

h20, I was told we will be given flags that morning to fly on the boats. That way we can see each other and be seen as a group too. My wife and I will be there the weekend before to pre-fish and get a better handle on the place. Might be a good time for some of us to hook up and share some secrets. We normally don't chase Pinks, so I will have to do a little intel on the little guys. Now if we ere after Kings and Silvers that would be a different story. My plan is to hit the pinks and see if we can just put fish to the boat.

Okay...just had a 20 minute conversation with Randy and feel that this is going to be a good day.

For those considering he has joined the forum and will hopefully sign on and give some more information and be able to answer questions.

I'll be happy to share any and all tips for catching humpies 'cause if the run is timed well there will be plenty for all.

Awesome H20, again as Fish4fun stated maybe the weekend prior we can link up for some pre fishing to ensure we show these guys a great time.  Yes flags will be provided.  Making a pole mount for my rocket launcher to go five foot above boat top!!

How bout the rest of you guys???? Come on let's sign up both boats and participants...

Good Morning All
Thank you all so much for showing interest in what I believe will be an awesome event. This event is presented by The Outdoor Line sports radio ESPN talk show in association with Take A Warrior Fishing. The Outdoor Line can be heard every Saturday morning from 0600 to 0800 hours. With that said, I am the sole contact who will receive registrations for both the boats and warriors. I want to send a special shout out to Cohoho for assisting in the recruiting effort. The goal is to have 50 boats. We are half way there. A huge welcome already to h2ohunter, Fish4Fun, robodad and Cohoho for signing up!
My wife and I will be coming up the day before to take care of any last minute stuff.....and fish a bit too! We will be in a 20' Hewes called Salmon Dreams. Our Team name is the AARP Flashers!
We have 1000' of moorage at the Everett Marina on Guest Dock A reserved for $1.00 per foot (I did my best to get the rate reduced) and hope to fill up the dock. We hope to due most of the loading and unloading off of Guest Dock A.
Here is the event schedule......

0530   Team arrival and setup
0600   Check-in opens
Meet and greet with Guides and Crew
           Soldiers assigned to boat
0630   Presentation of Colors / 173rd ABN Association
           Moment of silence
           Pledge of Allegiance
          Loading the boats begins
0700       Check-in closes
          Finish loading boats
          Fish on!
1500       All boats to be in
Everyone report to Bayside Marine for BBQ / raffle / fun
              Hand out fish bags
        Weigh station?
        Biggest fish?
        Present plaque
       Group photo
       Remarks and comments
1700    Thanks for coming and have a safe journey home!

We will be handing out flags for your boats at registration along with zip ties to attach them with. This will allow us to find you better on the water. This event has two photographers and one videographer who specializes in filming outdoor sporting events. Some Go=Pro cameras will be on selected boats. We have a medical team and some security folks that will blend right in. You may not even notice them. The BBQ afterward is sponsored by Bayside Marine. The weigh station and filet station are still in the works......stay tuned on that one.
We ask that each boat provide all the gear and a bit of lunch for your guest(s). We may have lunch provided but that has not been confirmed yet. Better safe than sorry. I will keep you posted on that front.
Thanks for considering our event. We would love to have you. We appreciate any assistance you may choose to give. We are operating under a 501(c)3 so your contributions are tax deductible.
You can call me at 425.330.0415 or reach me by email at cabincreekadventures@yahoo.com
See you on the water August 10th!

Now how about crab? I believe it will be open by then and if the fishing is slow and the capt has a crab license and a couple of pots should we consider that as well?

Just saw this...would love to help, just not sure yet if I will be able to swing it. My wife is due July 14th, so I'm not sure what my fishing schedule (if any) is going to be like the first week of August. Is there a deadline we need to commit by?
