Hancock is what the private timber co is called, it's in the mashel unit. Their number is 360-879-5312. I would also consider the white river unit, that's where I would be if I couldn't get access to Hancock. I will tell you about the white river, just pm me with your number.
If you buy a white river pass they will let you hunt that they won't let you hunt kapowsin all permits are sold out and I don't think they would allow it anyway's white river GMU holds some good bull's alot of area's besides hancock ... Good luck on your hunt!

I'd hunt the nooksack or the west goat rocks areas. During the rut of course

That is great news, congrats!!!

I'm not sure what Westside unit is your best bet. Several years ago it would have been a no-brainer but the Nooksack quality has dropped. A 330-340 bull is a monster these days.

The most important thing to do is have fun with that tag. Good luck!!!

Is the Nook unit available with that tag? I remember the Incentive Tag holder couldn't go in there last year.

Yes, past hunters were given a key also.

Elkhuntingcouple, if you are planning to hunt the Nooksack, you should call the LaConner WDFW office (360 466-4345) and tell them so.

Nothing at all wrong with a 330-340 bull on the west side.  With the mass that comes out of the Nook, a 340 bull would be awesome to see.  Plus, how many could tell the difference between a 340 and a 360 without measuring.  That is only 20 points.  So if you have a 340 inch 5x5, the only difference is a 360 with the same characteristics of horns would have each point be 2 inches longer.  And if it is a 6x6 or bigger, that 2 inches turns into and 1.  I would go to the Nooksack if it was me

I keep thinking about this thread and what I would do with the tag. The only thing I know for sure 100% is that it would take a hell of a lot of discipline to not shoot at a bull that did not meet my personal goals. Especially if hes slobbering, pissing, and screaming 40 yards away. The hardest part of the hunt might be keeping your finger off the trigger with no guarantees of what tomorrow will bring. for a second i was almost glad i don't have to worry about that. On second thought it might have been a microsecond.
