Auto type insurance not req'd? Well who the hells gonna cover the damages to my rig when you come whippin round the turn and plow into the front of my rig and kill yourself? Am i gonna have to sue your estate to recover loss? Hope your widow and kids are ok with that.

Like I posted, I know what the law says and where you are allowed to ride.  But it is now a legal road vehicle in the "state of Washington".  Nowhere in the process of getting it legalized or on DOL websites does it specify which county or any special requirements.  I plan on pushing the limits on this.

What if I run into your truck with my dirt bike in an ORV parking lot?  Not required to carry insurance on dirt bikes.

Yes, insurance isn't needed in Washington, but, I think it should be mandatory myself. New ORV's a friggin' expensive and we need to be responsible ORV owners. The insurance is cheap for what it covers, at least for me.

I'm telling you, Forest Circus roads are different, just check. I thought the same thing and was told even though they are street legal by the state, they are made as an OFFROAD VEHICLE still. Doesn't make sense. I belong to 3 clubs that have been working on this for a loooong time. Just be sure you know what roads are open is all I'm saying. Who wants a flipping ticket anyhow.

You do not know what the law says,  it is specific on county population and road speed limits both of which limit where you can ride.  Not sure how you are missing it.   You won't be pushing limits in Kitsap county,  you will be breaking the law.  Way more than 15,000 people in that county.

hate to tell but it's not required on street legal motorcycles either, so watch out for the punks doing wheelies on crotch rockets as well.

What I'm saying is that the DMV, the DOL don't know the law, and likely the LEOs aren't up to speed either.  It's not like I'm going to drive into silverdale and go thru Taco Bell drivethru.  Just back roads around Seabeck.

In your defense, the law was passed before it was thought out by the Gov and all off his departments.  Typical.

From their page:  A new law changes how 4-wheeled and utility-type ATVs are licensed. All wheeled all-terrain vehicles (WATVs) that meet the definition below MUST  be licensed and get a metal tag.

     if they are such a problem outlaw them.  and don't let them go straight up hills always sideways then no erosion.  don't flame me too bad  as I have had a couple of drinks and say what needs to be said.    I really don't like it when I have been walking for 1-2 hours in the dark and just before daylite orvs come flying by on a no orv road ahead of you.  wow it makes you feel like unloading on the orv.  I turned around and went home.   mike w

Ah yes. Got mine inspected yesterday and will be off road and on road legal tomorrow.....................It's about time Washington pulled their heads out of their exit hole..
