I hope someone gets them and gets them back on track.
Its been awhile since ive shot a Martin but I remember getting my first signed check from them as a "pro shooter".. Ill always have a warm place in my heart for them

I remember the first day I went to the range with my emerald green risered Cougar Magnum.  Everyone out there shooting their Bear Whitetail hunters just looked in amazement.  Even the guys with Jennings had to stop and take a look.  And fast!!!  I think those 2117 Autumn Orange shafts were screaming at least 225 fps  :IBCOOL:  Most everyone was saying they wanted one, but the $295.00 price tag was just too steep for most everyone to consider it :chuckle:
Ok, so my comment was from "back when"
But your comment is from "BACK WHEN!"

Back when I was AWESOME!   :chuckle: :chuckle:

Ok, back to the only day in my life someone might have confused me with someone awesome.  Perhaps that's a little more accurate.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

All us guys are. I know I'm an ass lots of the time. Don't deserve my lady or half the things I own. :dunno:
For where I'm at in life and what I've been through. I like to believe sometimes I'm blessed, a reason I stand by karma.

I should probably get this back on topic.

From what I am told Gail wanted to keep things rather quiet about the company up for sale.  So as far as I am aware there has been no articles written and no ads posted.  With the exception of a single little blurb by Terry Martin on Archery Talk.  No details just that Gail wanted to retire and the company was going to be put up for sale.

If it were ten years ago we would have bought the company months ago.  But dang if lending institutions aren't tighter than heck these days.  I actually had an SBA lender tell me that if I was a disabled black women he would have already approved the loan.  But, as a white middle aged male with no war injuries they really had no desire to speak with me further.

Guess the market value of my company and the assets we hold means absolutely nothing these days.  But we will continue to work on other options until the day the Martin family tells us it's over and done!  It's been extremely frustrating to say the least.  But, the thought of Gail's legacy disappearing, all those good people losing jobs and Washington state going down to just one major archery manufacturer makes it worth the fight.  At least if we go down fighting we can't look back one day and say, "I wish I had tried just a little harder."

If I was only an ass half the time my wife would be a happy camper! :chuckle:

I think the cordial native American woman would agree with that!

Heard they are pretty well done.  Last gasp deal has fallen through and reportedly the fire sale will begin shortly after the first of September.  Bank is calling due.  They've only got about 5 employees now and they have been notified its over.....

Bummer.
