Congrats! Doesn't seem like many of the big boys were showing themselves this year. Good job filling your tag.

There was 1 buck in swakane cyn bedded on the hillside 1 day that a million folks drove by, he was a dandy but for some reason it didnt work out and he is still in there tending does. I will be back up there tomorrow taking hunters out for the late archery and I am sure i will get to see some of the bruisers the me and my wife missed, but thats hunting.

The problem with these tags is you tend to build it up and up inside dreaming of book bucks but when reailty sets in and its the 3rd week and still no deer it can get nerve racking!!! :)
Amaizing how antlers can change a person!!

Were you able to corral that big guy?  We saw one really nice one that seven different guys were going after from every angle, it got away as they almost always seem to.  I was packing out my wife's doe while all of that commotion was going on.
I think we saw the same number of quality deer this year as in recent past but not the "legendary" amount that everyone seems to think are there.  I think there was 20-30% less deer because of the weather and they keep shortening the season, ending it before all of the deer get pushed down even on good snow years. Tough hunt as always but we had opportunities for sure.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Congrats to Lady Antlerking!   Meat in the freezer and memories created... Sorry Mr. Big didn't step out for her!
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.
