sea duck?
« on: December 02, 2013, 03:01:15 PM »
They always used to be considered "crap ducks" back in the day. Now they seem to a very special waterfowl reserved only for prestige.
But my question is from the waterfowl experts is..is a "sea duck" like a golden eye, scooter etc. still considered a "sea duck" if shot along the river? And does one need the special authorization permit and harvest card on the river?

Only in western Washington.  Not required in eastern Washington.
Cut em!

A sea duck is a sea duck weather or not you shoot it over the "sea" in Western Washington.  Err go you need the authorization to shoot them.

Check the regs, they have it listed in the bird discription page
catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

Permit required west of Hood River bridge.

Anyone know why goldeneyes are put in the "sea duck" category?  Doesn't make sense, unless it is strictly a management issue.

Or a revenue issue.

A better question is why would you want to shoot a goldeneye? Lol

Going to France don't make you a Frenchman, so yes they are sea ducks no matter where you find em!
The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!

Yeah no kidding, or a scoter or a oldsq....I mean long tail duck.

I think the only revenue they generate from it is when you don't turn it in, which is probably just as good as charging for it.
