Yep..... No fish on the Columbia this year.... Over priced license..... too many regulations. .... Best to just stay home.  Not going to be worth the drive down there.  I'll be the fool that wastes his money to go see if they lied.  I'll report back after the season is over to let you know if you made the right choice.

You must not have paid attention last year and the year before.  Both years had crazy good king fishing at B10.  Last year 1.2 million kings showed up

Do you suppose that all these huge runs of fish throughout Washington over the last two seasons, or the huge smelt run last year have any correlation to the Japanese fishing fleet being wiped out in the tsunami?

Very doubtful.  I think it has more to do with court ordered spill in the spring and the pacific decadal oscillation.
Yeah you're right, probably just coincidence.

The great returns are from the salmon/steelhead endorsement that we have to buy. In fact it's working so good, they are thinking about raising the cost of it to 20$

Some of them head into the Snake and lower trib's of the Columbia but the bulk of them are Hanford bound. They spawn in the mainstem of the Columbia in the Hanford Reach and some return to the Ringold hatchery.

I'd say about 10% of the fall fish go up the snake.

Got my spinners made, my gear all organized now I just need to stop buying land and livestock so I can get my main motor fixed so I can it hard this year!   I missed last season but I know guys who launch at Chinook that were back at the ramp and headed home with the boat limited out on kings by 8:30- 10:00 am every day for the first 2 weeks.  I really hope that it is as good as last year!!!

Bring on the the fish! Let's all say a fish god prayer.....

Oh mighty fish god please bring the fish.
Oh mighty fish god bring on the salmons.
Oh mighty fish god let the rains of your heavens swell our rivers.
Oh mighty fish god let them come by the millions.
Oh mighty fish god let at least one bite my hook....

May the fish god be with you!!!!!

:yeah: Have also been mulling that over and I conclude it is plausible. Any idea of how the Jap. fleet has recovered at this point?

Last years fall run was epic. I put a ton of fish in my freezer.

I did it without a boat.

Hope to have a boat this year.

And for the guys that fish the estuary, don't get caught fishing the new Youngs Bay Bubble.
*censored* happens when you party naked!!!

It would be fun to get a few guys together for a weekend down there, maybe camping/fishing for a weekend.

Maybe meeting on a Friday evening somewhere down there where everyone can stay, fishing Saturday, going back to camp and BSing all night and fishing again Sunday. :dunno:
