More Montana
« on: November 20, 2008, 06:14:15 PM »
I thought I'd let all the big Montana bucks get posted before I showed our dinks  :) Just kidding we took a couple nice 4 points on our last full day of hunting in Region 4. These bucks were typical of the bucks we saw all week. I let a few walk that I somewhat regret, but that was early on and I didn't want the fun to end. We even saw some real nice Whitetail bucks. They hadn't kicked into the rut like the Muleys. As an added bonus we limited on Roosters at will. The sharptails were plentiful also. The first picture is a 20 minute limit on pheasant with a few added grouse. The second is a crappy field self timed photo of the buck I killed in his bed the last evening. The third is both our bucks loaded and ready for the 750 mile journey home. The quantity and quality of the hunting was excellent. It was a little weird driving by the armed nuclear silos that were spread through out the area. I wonder who they are pointed at now?

Great job Tom, I used to work Security for those Silos in the Air Force way back when.... 80's.... Best darn job I ever had as in duties in the military....  We'd see all kinds of huge animals that we couldn't shoot..... :'(

I heard that 2 people live 24-7, 90 feet below ground with 2 keys to arm the damn things. Don't know if that's true either. A little camo around the fence would make a great ground blind.
