Couldn't fit him into the rig I had last trip.  We tried, but were about 4" short.  Decided to wait on the pick up until the full mount Dall in completed.  Then I will rent a panel truck and pick them both up at the same time.  Shouldn't be long now!  With the MIL moving in space is going to be tight once home as well >:(  But she is just going to have to move her crud!  Though we have been looking for a new place to live with more space for moose and squirrel to come join 'bou and sheep soon!

I am very fortunate that Rick claims he likes it hanging around the place :chuckle:  Though I'm sure this is not to last too long.  he seems rather busy and space a premium.  Sounds like the sheep should be done within another month!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

With the site being slow (waiting for stuff to load) and me not on here as much, I sure missed this one.  What a gorgeous mount.  WOW

Outstanding work, you must have soaked that velvet in turpentine huh?

Yes they did.  Cut the tips of each point, hung upside down and hand rubbed the blood out each day before dipping in the turpentine again.  Not sure how many consecutive days they do that.  But it turned out great.  Shrink rate was substantial of course.  Especially in the paddles.  Though that is to be expected with the antlers so green.  Still look huge compared to the hard horns!

2016 I will be targeting hard horn exclusively.  The colder weather and shorter days might make the sheep hunting tougher.  But I will be able to finally get that moose I've been waiting for since I was in grade school.  I expect I will be there 20 days next time!

I was in Rick's shop a week ago and got to see this mount up close and personal.  Absolutely gorgeous in person.

He was working on a full mount sheep, was that yours?  It had a little brown on the lower half like a mix almost. It was gorgeous also.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

No that was not my sheep.  I saw that Fallon last time I was in there.  Pretty neat animal!

Yeah he does so really cool stuff in there.  I was just dropping off a set of mule deer antlers from my daughters first buck deer last year.  He lets me keep them while I wait in line.  Can't wait to see the finished product.
