First time hunting in the summer in Nevada

When I hunted in Nevada we could not kill the Kit Fox.  Dang buggers would be all over us as we called.  Had to carry a club to keep from getting bit.  It was crazy!  In the late 80's January in Nevada was Freakin AWESOME!!!  Think my last trip was '89.  I hope it's close to the same for you

I called one in last august and he almost ran over my feet.  I have to train my eyes to look that low to the ground

We had a Chevy Blazer with an upgun/turret nest for night calling.  Those darn Kit Fox would jump up on the truck and try biting your hands while you were calling.  Light man had one hand on the light and another on a club trying to keep the fox clear of the caller.  Those buggars just lose their dang minds when you bust out a double reed cottontail call.

What is worse:  Grouse coming up from under a foot or a fox you didn't see running over your foot?  Both scare the boogers out of me

You can hunt kit fox and red fox, but for a 142 bucks

Holy smokes!!! Ya I'd stick with yotes.  Tho if there are that many fox it could be a blast

Called in a double but coukdnt get a shot off.  Was able to smoke a few jackrabbits

I thought in Nevada you could shoot coyotes with out a license but you had to leave them unless you have a fur bearers license. I may be wrong but I'm sure that's what I had read last year.

Called in one last night around sunset and missed the shot   However been destroying the Jack Rabbits

Going out again for the last time tonight.  I think I have finally nailed the jack rabbit hunting down, they tend to only run about 10 feet in the dark and 300 yards in the light.  I also learned they are very thin skinned and when you tube them do not pull to hard or the hide rips in half

I only have to buy the Fur Bearers license if I sell the hide as per the Nevada Game and fish.

Those big Jacks are an amazingly tough bunny!  I think the coyotes think twice before tackling one of them  

I tried shooting them with Judo points and rubber blunts my first trip.  Ended up spending my day chasing bunnies hoping to get my arrows back!  Next trip I brought six dozen arrows all with sharp MA-3 broadheads on them...that worked MUCH better
