WHIDBEY islands lone Bull
« on: July 31, 2014, 10:17:14 PM »
This guy roams my inlaws property on the island ... Was fortunate to have him cross the road the other morning and got this picture of him... With a little help from Instagram I made this cell phone pic look this good...  I think Olympia should have a one time raffle for a tag to get this guy..I know they wouldn't make a huge profit but he's the king of this island and he will go to waste to some cyotes sometime.... I think he would look great one someone's wall... Wish it was mine

Awesome bull! Personally, I think this guy should be left alone. He went out of his way to find a sanctuary out there on the island, we should just let him have it. Enjoy the fact that you get to see him and enjoy him alive, because once he's dead, he's dead. There are plenty of elk elsewhere to kill.   :twocents:

Go to waste? If he can make it through his lifetime without being poached, killed by a car, or a predator, then good for him.

Yeah i have heard alot about this ole bull, but i have never actually seen him.  from all the pictures he is gorgeous! and on top of that... i mean if there was a tag open for it.... it would still be hell to find him and get access to land to hunt him.. and good luck takin him down with a shotgun... you look at bow mainly! b/c Rifle is illegal on the island

Obviously you have never seen the damage a 12 guage new age slug gun can do. Hunted big WI whitetails for years with slug guns as that was all we could use. Inside 100 yds it would be all good.

Maybe it was a bad choice of words on saying a waste... But you are all right he ahold be left alone but it's hard to see him sit out there and not be able to hunt him ... But I was just throwing thoughts out there on what people thought about a raffle hunt... I know exactly where this bull lives and hides and he has it made... Such a majestic animal... And yes to find his sheds would be great only problem is last year when he dropped them he crossed the road with them and came back with out em and the owners land he dropped em on are not the most pleasant people meaning they out a chain link fence up around there yard so he and other deer can't come in there yard and they posted everything else they own..... Owell can win them all...

This elk lives on my uncles  property, he has each set of sheds since it appeared there. Its an impressive bull, but it made that trip for some reason. I was talking with my grandpa, there used to be a heard out on whidbey in the 50's, but they got wiped out by hunters and poachers. This bull has had a couple people try to poach it, lucky for it though it usually always has eyes looking out for it.

What are the chances your uncle would hook me up with a set of sheds?? I watch this guy all the time ... I take it you uncle owns all those fields of there an more... Will he shut the door in my face if i ask to deer hunt back behind his house?!
