Wow... glad I am not the only one who can't stand that show.  Only good thing about it is being sponsored by a superior bow....  ;)

This is pathetic, apparently you all have or watch the show.  Get over it, and spend more of your time calling your legislator and worry about something important.  Hunting behind high fences is the least of your worries!

NW Hunter is a different show full of posers out of Oregon with bigger egos than skills. Like Jackelope said, Burnsworth's show is called "Western Extremes." I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure Burnsworth is from Spokane. I think he owns are is somehow connected to a media company that produced commercials but now they produce only hunting shows, including "Adventure Abroad" with Scott Haugen. Yeah, Bowtech sponsors these shows, but there are a ton of other companies that sponsor shows just like this one. For this reason, I hardly ever watch the Outdoor Channel anymore. I might catch an episode of Eastman's or Zumbo and a couple others from time to time. Like Elkstuffer, I have emailed several sponsors of shows like this and even the Outdoor Channel to question their decisions to support shows like these. They could all care less. It is simply about business and money. Apparently enough people out there don't feel like us and watch enough of these shows to make it profitable. I was excited when I saw the Boone and Crockett Club's Fair Chase website a few years ago and joined the forum there to discuss this very issue. The funny thing was that several of the sponsors at the time for the Fair Chase website were also sponsors for shows full of canned hunts. I pointed out the irony in this in a post there, but now their forum has been shut down.

It might be the least of your worries. I guess the rapid increase in the commercialization of hunting is something important to me. The average non-hunter doesn't turn on the TV and see guys like Bone Addict putting in all the time and effort that goes into consistently harvesting trophy animals. Instead they see *censored*es shooting animals on so-called "trophy" high-fenced ranches and underneath automatic feeders. Personally, I think this depiction of hunting is way more harmful to our cause as hunters than a lot of the things you probably consider important. I really could give a #hit whether they shoot big animals or not. It is not a jealousy thing about money for me. I just get sick of hearing the "we all need to band together" cliche when I think alot of people that think they are part of the solution are doing more harm for our cause than good. I don't think you will ever convince me that trophy game farms are in any way a positive thing for our hunting heritage. Ask guys in the states with CWD what they think. Maybe they should have called their legislatures and brought this stuff up a long time ago.

Hacksaw, good post!  I couldn't agree more.

Especially the part about the we all need to band together thing.

I get so tired of hearing that when it comes to game farm "hunting."   It is not hunting, it should be illegal, and I do not need to support it.

most of the programs are a joke..I think thats why alot of hunters get frustrated,You get in a blind or tree stand and after the commercial ya get your monster deer or elk..I was watching huntley way, after 8 trips he finally got an elk not a huge one either.Thats more like it.If you remember Mike Lapinski he was fun to watch.

I used to dvr this show, but after a few of his "hunts" up north.  I no longer watch.  I'm actually embarrassed that Bowtech is sponsoring this joker.  Too bad.

On a side not.  I'm pretty sure he was on a different show this morning hunting dall sheep in the nwt.  He was shooting a hoyt too. I know they kept saying Burnsworth. Maybe he got 86ed from any new shows.  I also remember him shooting a mathews on the western extreme show.  Found it weird that he was shooting a bow from a different company.

He is about as phoney of a hunter as Ted Nugent is.. Both of them hunt high fences. I can't stand either of them..

If each of us did as much for hunting, gun rights and our country as he does the anti's would be hiding under logs somewhere too affraid to open their mouths.

I hope I can be as full of life and hunt like he does when I'm 59 years old, I think he is great.

So one person hunting behind fences is a jerk, but another one is a hero??? Hunting is hunting.. If its legal then who are we to talk smack about it. If you don't like the mans show, do what I do with Nugents show, and just don't watch it. I know, now we're going to get into the ethics of hunting. What is ethical to one person, may not be to others. We need to just get off our collective high horses, and band together to save this sport of ours..

Some day when hunting is outlawed, then some will say "gee I wish I would have done that"

If you are going to follow one of my posts with accusations of my actions you had better have documentation. You show me where I talked smack about this guy and said he was a jerk for hunting high fence.
