Im a stationed at JBLM coming from Camp Pendleton, ca. I've duck hunted for the past 15 years from fields to ponds to flooded rice. Looking forward to the next duck season up here and wondering if anyone else wouldn't mind teaming up with me to go on a few hunts. I got a 14ft flat bottom boat that I will be working on over the summer, 15 dozen snow goose windsocks, 14 full body snows, 5 snow flyers, 12 honker shells and as of currently only a handful of duck decoys due to the fact that I let my brother use them while I was deployed. Any out there willing to share some tips and tricks no spots though ill look for my own.

Welcome to the site.  Your Snow Goose decoys probably won't get much use unless you get up to the Skagit Valley way north of Seattle.  Nisqually is fairly close to you and would be a good place to play with your boat and learn the tides/weather.  Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of doofs there as well.

that's what ive heard so far about the snows. The house im renting in rainier is only 30 minutes to the ramp by nisqually. I do have a dozen speck floaters that maybe repainted into honkers. That's not too bad of a drive about 2.5 hours

Be sure to study the regs well.  Special authorization is required for "Sea Ducks" and Snow Geese in the Skagit area.

I would show you around skagit for ducks and am interested in decoying snows.  Was thinking of getting 10dz windsocks.  Have been trying to generate interest with my hunting partners but most tell me snows are too hard to decoy. :dunno:
I have a Honker spread with about six dozen field ducks I like to throw in.  Shoot some on the westside but most in ewa.  Pm me if you're interested in some yote hunting/scouting in the off season.

Yeah snows are tough. Currently I have 2 calls getting tuned for snows that work to bring them in down in so cal and a couple guides in Nor Cal that swear by them including my guide buddy. Specks are what im good at calling as far as geese. Still working on the honker call not the best.

Unless you skybust snows one the dike, it's pretty much all private property for snows.  Very hit and miss on getting them.

I use to be able to do 60 yards all day not so much anymore so hopefully with all the decoys ill get them in feet down.
