2015 Oregon State Elk Calling Championships
« on: February 23, 2015, 09:23:28 AM »
We just got back from the Oregon State Elk Calling Championships. It was a great time in Bend, Or and the competition was good.  Phelps Game Calls did well in both the Adult (1st through 4th) and Professional (1st and 2nd) division as well as 1st in the youth. The adults 1st through 4th were seperated by 1 point with ties for 1-2 and 3-4 with the higher bugling score used as a tie breaker.

Professional:
1st: Matt Lux (dragon slayer and custom triple)
2nd: Jason Phelps (signature cow and The Boss)

Adult:
1st: Lewis Shetler (signature cow and The Boss)
2nd: Cory Miller (The Boss)
3rd: Charlie Smith (Signature cow and Dragon Slayer)
4th: Brian Uthmann (dragon slayer and The Boss)

Outstanding showing by Phelp's game calls and obviously, the participants using them!  I was just down to see Cory a few weekends ago, very nice guy.  Is the format like the BOTW comp you attended last year?  Thanks for sharing the event results Jason.  Would really like to hear some of the competition recordings if you have them.

Congrats guys, maybe next time they can give Charlie a box to stand on, so he doesn't have to adjust his hat as high as it will go.

Congratulations.

Phool as I remember your not the tallest guy either. :chuckle:

Cameraguys Grand daughters did well there also. One Won the Youth Elk Calling, and the other Won the Youth Hunter of the Year.

Correct, but I'm taller than that lucky charms leprechaun in that pic. :chuckle:
