Rocky Mt or Desert Bighorn?

I have always been curious on what everyone's opinions are on this. I personally would pick Rocky Mt just because I like their looks better for some reason. What do you say? Or would you even care which?

The two sheep shown are not the same class animal. Take a look at some of the giant dessert rams out there and it's a tougher choice. That being said....dall

Desert is a much harder tag and hunting opportunity.  So if I was allowed to pick one guaranteed it would have to be Desert.  If I had to pick a favorite that would be difficult.  Probably would be Rocky Mtn.  Though I'd rather tag a big Stone than either of those two.  Had to cancel my Stone trip for this year due to all the broadhead supply chain poop.  Not sure when I will have another chance.  But, maybe one of these days :dunno:

I'm with you RadSav.  A good stone sheep hunt would be top pick over pretty much anything else.  Throw a Mt.Caribou, Moose and Goat in for good measure.  Oh yeah, a Grizz too.   Thats's a bummer you had to miss out on your hunt...

Rocky, however if you put up a real mature old desert ram, that is one cool critter to have lived a long life in an environment that they do.

^ this. most of the photos of desert bighorn I've seen are youngins. That led me to believe they don't get big. There are two huge toads at the taxidermist where I had my elk done and all I can say is  :yike:

Shoulda taken a few phone pics  :sry:

Used to be a couple monster rams at the Phoenix zoo. ;)  Last time I was there was 1984...so :dunno:

They translocated some to the Santa Catalina's, Rad. They've made two transplants of 30 from the Yuma area IIRC. You shoulda seen the Pinkotards go bat-crap when game and fish had to sharpshoot several mountain lions.  :chuckle: Lions killed a dozen or more of the sheep  :bash:
