I have nothing against a companion hunter that shoots an animal for an individual....but if you just want someone to go out and shoot a non-"crappy" bull so you can have one that is bigger than the one on your wall...is it worth it? To me no. I would rather shoot a cow or spike myself..as opposed to someone else shooting a big bull for me...and me putting it on my wall.

I didn't ask about a " companion " shooting my bull. I don't need no stinking help shooting a " crappy " bull, or any other animal for me. I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. And, a crappy bull is a crappy bull. People complain all the time that, It's not quite what I'm looking for. So I think you can drop the sarcasm...

Are you preferring a disabled hunt, warrenting that it meets your requirements?  Also, if your statement is true about being able to kill and pack out an animal (an elk)by yourself ...should you be applying for disabled? I hate to be that guy and point that out...but ....killing an elk and packing it out by yourself doesn't get easier each year for all people....

Thats what the regs say but according to Big Tex, the RCW states different and that RCW's trump the game regs.  I think its stupid too, I'm just passing on the info.  Don't shoot the messanger. :sry:

I can do everything for a successful hunt. Disabled hunters are given the very worst areas to hunt. I looked at a disabled elk hunt area offered to me by Delores Noyes, who runs the disabled hunters deal. I went and looked at that tiny, 2 mile, overgrown logging road, non- elk area. You went into Idaho out of Priest River, then back into Washington to hunt the elk. I found out from the locals they'd never seen an elk in there, ever. So far, disabled areas suck. I've never used one in my life. Also, I can bring a companion hunter with me if I choose too. I'm just putting out feelers for info, because I give out all kinds of info for my area, through the PM's on here. So, that's where I'm coming from with my original question. Then it turns into the typical BS.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

The good thing is that you're not restricted to the special disabled hunter areas. You can hunt anywhere you want.

No kidding. Have you, personally, ever looked at a disabled area ? Pretty sad.....

Yes I have, for my uncle. Mostly looked at the deer areas though. Are you talking about the ones that you have to draw?

Gotcha, well good on you for not using the disabled program if you are fully capable!! No sarcasm, there are alot of people who take advantage of that program (not in a good way), that are fully capable of hunting normal seasons. Kind of pisses a guy off when someone is "disabled" and they can pack out an elk. I would most definately help out someone in need however I could (well, I probly wouldn't shoot an animal for them), but if they were capable id tell them to scout, and hunt like everyone else. Good luck this season on finding a bull.

Personally, I don't think I could stand going to the westside to hunt. I'm so used to no traffic and no people. Everything depends on me getting drawn for a multi-season elk tag, then figure it out...

SW Wa most likely does not have what you want, big bulls are not the norm around here even though Williams creek area is one of if not the highest harvest numbers for elk in the state. You may get the best access with your disability and age but there is only the occasional big bull taken.

Does it have to be a designated "disabled area" for a companion hunter to help you out?  :dunno:

No.

Heck just pick the one that has the guy at the gate to make sure you paid your 300 dollars to get in,then he points you in the derection of parking, foolows you to the spot, punches your parking ticket, and hands you a flyer for next year and tells you how much time you have points you in the derection  they have decided to let you hunt before you got there and says ( BE SAFE !! ) Well when a guy tells me to be safe on a paid for permit land deal for bow season, I emediately wondered were they parked everybody else I geuss the 300 dollars was for parking , the flyer  and the guy sitting there,Im thinking this is were my anxiety stuff started, I swear it is never again!!So my answer, don't follow the money, the guys that run the show only care about money and there own freezers , just my take from the experience, goooo, 364 ,that's allways my choice regardless of the negatives ,( don't get me stared ? ) :bash:
