Vehicle decisions.

So the wife gave me the green light to get a new vehicle soon. Sweet! I've got a truck that is paid off but man it would be great to get a new truck, which I've been thinking I wanted to get. Like a newer Chevy or a tundra. But than I start looking at four runners and looked at my bosses that he got recently and that thing is so nice. I can't decide what to get a truck or a four runner. The one thing I am thinking might be the no go for the four runner is when I go duck hunting, all my decoys might not fit in the back of it, but I would be keeping g my truck so I can always just use that as a strictly hunting rig..aaarrrgggg tough decisions!

I have a 4 runner, 7.3 excursion, crew cab duramax, cj7 and a jetta. That's how I solved the same problem.

The other option is to get the four runner now and use that as the family rig now while using my truck as a hunting rig l. Than when the kids are older and I could afford it better get the truck... Tough decisions!

I like sleeping in the bed of my tundra when I hunt and scout.

My first gen tundra has almost 300,000 miles on it and is a beast. I put even more pinstripes on it last week, which was yet another reminder why I bought a vehicle so old I could just hand over cash for it. I'd probably spaz out if I had a 2015 truck and vandalized it in such ways. Well maybe not if it was a Dodge

If I were you, I would get a good 4 door 4 wheel drive now, something you can tow with also. The hen, when the kids are older ( it happens quick) you will already be set up to take the whole crew with you.

Bought my duramax in 06 , the Mrs. had a 90 4 runner, bought her a new 4runner in 13 and love them all. As for having more money when the kids are older maybe when they are WAY older. Mine are 13 and 16 and we certainly had more money when they were younger  they now eat constantly, grow out of everything, and ruin whatever they can get their hands on. Good luck with whatever you decide if the sole reason for the new rig is hunting I would go truck as it will work for more situations, if you are concerned about the decoys fitting you are likely to start out unhappy with your choice several months a year  .

If you don't need a third row, I can't see getting a 4runner over a truck. I tried to talk my wife into a 4runner when we bought her a new car a few months ago. It would've been a great car for her (hauling kids and road trip duty), but no way would I want one over a new truck.

I only ever buy Toyota and I love the old fords, I have a tundra, its the best rig in the world, my wife has had two rav4s my daughter (17)  drives a Tacoma(97) and up until my son left a year ago for the 82nd airborne unit he also drove a Toyota pickup.. go with the full extended cab tundra 5.7 you will never be under powered or UN comfortable and its just a sweet rig

I had a Tundra. Once all the issues were repaired, it was a great pickup. Sold it cause I was not a fan of the payment and wanted a boat. I've had good luck with Ford and Chevy over the years, but I'd lean toward Chevy/GMC if I was looking new at this time. The GM 5.3 V8 and auto tranny are rock solid, long life set up with a great ride.

Get the 4 runner. If you need to haul stuff buy a trailer that the 4 runner can tow.

In the driveway sits a Chevy Silverado, and driven daily is a 2006 4Runner and a Nissan Leaf. Since your are keeping the truck, the 4runner is a no-brainer, love mine.
