Desert Deer
« on: November 21, 2015, 09:07:47 AM »
I haven't seen any success stories for the Desert unit yet this season - the modern hunt ends tomorrow and the archery hunt was way back in Sept-Oct. Anybody done anything or heard anything about it? I really like that unit, hope to draw that tag myself one day... (Maybe when I'm old and gray - wait, too late.)

Let's see some pics!

Unfortunately you will see less and less threads every year on the desert unit as it gets worse and worse

 :yeah:

Not near the critters out there as years past.  Still some crazy hawgs, but they don't come easy.  Luck will do you better than skill out there.

there is a lot of poaching going on in desert unit

I had tag archery 5 years ago . I found quite a few deer with heads cut off in unit. I did report it.

:yeah: I know a guy that hunts neighboring units a lot of orchard workers shooting plenty of deer, doesn't do any of the herds around there any good

damn shame what these poachers do to our game.  I don't get it, you kill a pig of a deer or elk, then you make up some BS story to tell your friends?!? I have always felt that poaching would be slowing phased out by time, but I guess some people just don't friggin get it.

My buddy killed a dandy. He had a muzzy tag. Spent a lot of time looking before he found a good one.

Besides the poaching you are talking about I am sure some of the animals are killed by feild workers out there.  The place is full of them
If its brown knock it down
