I also had a couple close encounters with that stud this season! Came real close to killing him twice but....bow hunting happened! Haha. We were pretty bummed to see you had beat us to him opening morning lol. So we just watched u make your move from a distance. From where we were it looked like u had him at one point. We ended up finding him the next day and made a couple stalks only to have does ruin it as usual! Haha. Awesome buck! Hope we get the chance to see him next year! Oh, and were your legs as jello as mine hiking out of that hell hole?? Lol
Was going to post a couple of pics but I'm an idiot....any help?

I'm glad you let that little guy go for another season.  :chuckle: What a great story and pics.

And I think 195" is very conservative. That buck has it all! Width, height, mass, HUGE fronts, and great backs! I think his fronts are so big that it makes his backs look, well, less than huge I guess, because they still look incredible! Haha. And the 2 little inline kickers just for a little flavor!

Unreal fronts on that deer and it looks young! Doesn't have the build or shape of an older deer. Stud for sure!!

What a great read!  I felt like I was right there with you watching that amazing buck, you have a gift for storytelling.  Thanks so much for sharing!  I'll be dreaming of that buck tonight I think!!

I thought I was in pretty good shape also til I tried getting to the top in a hurry because they were moving straight uphill on me so I tried jumping to the backside of the ridge and hauling ass up to cut them off. Haha, yeah right!! Something about hunting big Mulies in rugged country though.....nothing better! I'll share some more pics once I change the format to fit. No worries...no background in my pics. Haha
