This season is so wet, I have given up on breathables and went to strictly PVC, but I am not moving either-boat hunting. Anyone know some med-heavy PVC brands with a camo pattern?
I've been wearing UnderAmour rain gear the past three or four years. By far the quietest lightweight stuff I have ever used. So far not a single leak and it still looks like it did the day I took it out of the package. I'm very pleased with it!

They are out performing my Rivers West Jacket. With that said the style of clothing you choose is directly related to the style of hunting you do. I like to stay dry no matter what. River West doesn't breath but it will keep you dry and is great for sitting or still hunting. After several hours it does tend to shed water down the arms and eventually the sleeves get wet. It also will make you sweat if your putting the miles on.
If it's really raining, I'm more worried about staying dry than being quiet. I wear Grundens vinyl and X-tra Tufs for those days. Western Washington rain muffles sound fairly well and there is usually some wind along with it. Sound isn't an issue.

I'm very pleased with it!With a good UA or similar rain jacket with good length I have never gotten my thermals wet since getting the bird pants. That's a lot of NWT and west side rain storms! That was my downfall out hunting 2 weeks ago. I was fine (aside from hands soaked with non waterproof gloves) up walking around. soon as I sat down though I didn't catch it and my coat road up, water right into waist of rest of my layers. I didn't notice until it had soaked thru either which was 5min to late.. BRRRR Being 6'4" def has drawbacks!I did notice that I could move "much quieter" in the rain. Both due to wet branches not snapping as loud as well as the pounding rain on vegetation makes a nice white noise to knock down any errant toe placements...
