Definitely nice wood. I bought one like it last year but in 257 Roberts. Great shooting rifle, not killed anything with it yet. Dropped it this year while hunting but it landed on the scope and bent it. Rifle is unhurt, whew.

the store in lacey had a few super grades with absolutely gorgeous wood a while back.  would've bought one if i could justify it, but would change out the ugly cabelas logo floor plate for a stock one.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Those fnh made model 70s great. Another selling point of the new 70 action is that the 7x57 is camberbed on a short action.I have a featherweight in 7x57 and a supergrade in .308. You will not be disappointed with that purchase.
