Tulalip bubble to open July 1?
« on: June 16, 2016, 10:27:17 PM »
From what I've seen it will open July 1.  I have not fished salmon in the sound for years but am wanting to do so.  I've done the forum search and seen that some have done ok.  Is anyone willing to share info on gear, depths, and any other info?  Please?

The bubble is a joke.
For weeks leading up to it the tribe nets it to extinction.
Then it opens for a couple days, then they start netting again
Fished it for years, rarely saw a fish caught.
The few I saw were good sized though.
One shot. One kill!

If noaa does not approve anything by July 1st the regs mean nothing. I called last weekend this is what the WDFW gal told me. Cross your fingers folks because the longer NOAA sits on their thumbs the shorter our season gets.
As far as the bubble goes, good luck fishing through the crab pots.

Actually last year was a great year in the bubble. I get updates from Johns Sporting Goods on Facebook and it was incredible. I went in and take to John and he said he'd never seen anything like it. Standard trolling gear works. I use a Red Racer Flasher and either a green spatter back squid or Purple haze with a UV insert. Put on piece of salted herring and drop it down 80 feet. Watch your fish finder and adjust as neccessary.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
