What truck are you running? I don't buy after market wheels for pickups that are going to be hauling heavy loads for this reason. You just never know if they're up to handling the load, or not.

Birddog, I had the exact same problem with the E Bremerton LEs Schwab. That guy does not know what he's doing, that's a fact.Cost me a tie rod end, shock & tire before I got smart enough to take it someplace else. I've used Discount Tire since, and am very happy there.

Two Schwab wheels cracked. Bought a new one for $214 12 days ago. They wouldn't give me a warranty. In Montana at a field trial yesterday and another wheel cracked.

The wheels were put on by the previous owner so Schwab has told me to take a hike. Whatever you do, never buy anything from Schwab. They sell Chinese crap and their warranty is crap.

Why be upset, you didn't buy the wheels from them.  There not covered under any warranty.
Do you just want something for free?
I'm not sure.

FYI That "cheap Chinese junk" some of you are referring to is likely manufactured in the USA

From 2013:

WHITE, Ga.—Toyo Tire North American Manufacturing, Inc. broke ground on a 1 million sq.-ft.-addition to its White plant on Dec. 6.

The Chinese crap referred to is the majority of off brand tires and products sold at Schwab.
Name brand tires such as Toyo are a very small percentage of their sales.
In 2012 the trade commission ruled that the U.S. tire market was being flooded with cheap Chinese products and tarrifs were needed to level the playing field with American tire makers. Les  Schwab Corp. based in Bend Oregon fought against  the imposed tarrifs.

I had a aftermarket rim crack from schwab 7-8 years ago.  Have never bought another aftermarket wheel since.  Seems like I hear a lot of stories from people who use their trucks to tow/haul that have had aftermarket wheels break.  Not to mention most look like *censored* after a few years anyways.  Was kinda cool when I was younger now I realize just what a waste it is to go buy something that does nothing at all for you.  Its like buying pants with shiny *censored* on the ass no thanks.

Les Schwab is now owned by a group of attorneys.  They are all about up selling and profit.  Les would be turning in his grave.

Most all aftermarket alloy wheels, specifically cast wheels, are not something I would consider risking the safety of my family by putting on any vehicle we own.

I got more frustrated trying to get wheels which fit my new tires. Called and filed a complaint with NTSB against Les Schwab and Fuel Off Road Wheels. That was surprisingly easy and the NTSB lady was very nice.

I have emailed Fuel three times now with no response.

I called Les Schwab Corp office and asked for the product safety manager. I spoke with a guy named Casey who seemed concerned. I let him know I filed a complaint with NTSB. He has promised to contact Fuel and figure out how to warranty the wheels because of defects. I told him I do not have confidence that the wheels are safe and do not want another set of the same ones.

He promised to call me back after contacting the manufacturer. I'll let you all know how it goes.

 :yeah:

And with that, most people buy aftermarket wheels not knowing they have load ratings.
It should be company policy for tire shops to educate the public of such ratings before purchasing.

Evergreen Ford/Chevy has all my business from here on out. They have helped me a long time ago on my 1998 150, gladly helped me w parts foe my dyi front axle f 350 job and now match lowest price I can find on tires and give a cheap diesel oil change w service work. Hard to beat. I'll buy my next rig from them for sure.

Low price guarantee is a Ford program. It's not specific to Evergreen Ford. We all do it.
Also, $40 for an oil change on a diesel truck is a significant net loss for the dealer. Honestly not sure why or how they would do it. They must like working for free and then some.

This is a solid point. Usually warranty like this applies only to the purchaser and not subsequent owners.

So you bought the rig with 4 wheels purchased by someone else before they sold the truck to you?  Then two wheels cracked and you bought one?  Les Schwab won't warranty the one wheel they just sold you?  And now a third wheel cracked in Montana?

I can understand them not warrantying the wheels you didn't buy but there should be some warranty on the one you bought 12 days ago.  Is that one cracked?
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Or go with Alcoa's.

They make aluminum rims rated at 3750lbs in a single wheel application.  And only weigh 24 lbs.
