les schwab junk
« on: September 25, 2016, 09:43:58 PM »
Two Schwab wheels cracked. Bought a new one for $214 12 days ago. They wouldn't give me a warranty. In Montana at a field trial yesterday and another wheel cracked.

The wheels were put on by the previous owner so Schwab has told me to take a hike. Whatever you do, never buy anything from Schwab. They sell Chinese crap and their warranty is crap.

I'm going in to visit with them first thing in the morning. I'm going to demand that my vehicle has wheels installed which are safe for highway travel. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I have four vehicles outfitted by Discount Tire.  So far, no issues.  I've never used Les Schwab, so I have no comparison.  Good luck tomorrow.

After the first wheel cracked, they told me a tire needed to be replaced because it was failing. I said if, they give me a discount on the prematurity failing tire and warranty the failed wheel I would buy a new set of tires. They basically said go f yourself. I promptly went and bought new tires from the Issaquah dealer who beat their price. They took a while and gave me a free transmission change because I waited a while. Now, I'm stuck with new bfg's for 17" rims. The 17" crap les Schwab wheels.... Broke second one in two weeks.

I bought my previous set of bfg from discount. Agreed, they are great company. Had a few other things done on my Ford and her Chevy at Evergreen. They now give me a discount and match or beat the lowest tire price and only charge $40 for a diesel oil change. You have to leave your truck but, they wash it and clean the inside. Issaquah Ford/Chevy dealer does a great job. I'm a big endorser of their service. When I dis my Ford front end rebuild I bought all my parts from them and Brenden at the service/parts counter is a big help and great guy.

I've always used les Schwab and never had an issue. I never go with their generic brand though, always the toyos. I've never had an issue with them, have always out 20-30k more miles than they are rated for. Their service has always been great. This is out of the north bend shop anyhow. The one in my town is ok as well. Used them a few times and they were great. Sorry for your bad luck

I also just got $900 of new trailer tires and wheels in north bend last month. Had airbags put on the Chevy for $400 a few months before... Had brakes dome for $700 a month before that

They say lifetime warranty on everything and then always say oh we can't do this because your tie rod blah blah blah needs to be changed before we touch it and blah blah is wrong and oh it's old wheels. Done with them. Brakes suck from them too warp going down the first hill

Evergreen Ford/Chevy has all my business from here on out. They have helped me a long time ago on my 1998 150, gladly helped me w parts foe my dyi front axle f 350 job and now match lowest price I can find on tires and give a cheap diesel oil change w service work. Hard to beat. I'll buy my next rig from them for sure.

Schwab has done a good job on all of my rigs and tractors.   For 40 years.  And my farmer friends as well.

I used Les Schwab for many years on all of my vehicles until I heard about issues with their Chinese products. About 2 years ago my F150 needed new tires. I went to Schwab for a quote then across the street to Discount Tire. I discovered for the same price I can get made in USA BF Goodrich tires instead of the Chinese crap. Discount Tire also offers the free flat repairs and rotations and has many locations.
