Heres how I see it - if this guy goes to such lengths to keep negative reviews under wraps he is no one that I want to do business with, nor will I suggest him to someone else. If it was only one or two guys, well not everyones going to have a great experience OR going to have the same definition of 'great experience' as everyone else... but when a ton of people are trashing you, well, theres usually a reason for it.

I could care less who buys the land. But when someone with his reputation buys it, thats a different story. Pretty sure he has worn out his welcome in one place so he is moving on to another. This is no secret.

He can sue all he wants, it will never hold in court. Simple.

I just think BP would prefer to not having to hire a lawyer and head off to Superior Court, likely in a differnt county than his own, to defend what he asked posters not to do.

The name of the outfitter was *censored* out of the title from all the first few posts. That is the only thing that was change. Lawsuits have been threatened in the past and many threads were cleansed of the outfitters name. Before this new thread could get out of hand and new threats of lawsuit could get underway I proactively censored the name out.

Yeah, but it would still cost time and money to win the lawsuit.

Just monitor your property. Signs, cams etc. If you catch him doing something wrong then have good evidence and turn him in. Advise your neighbors to do the same. Make sure he knows you guys are watching him.

So in other words.....

If we see an outfitters business or personal name on this forum, that's a good thing but no name ever mentioned is bad?

Looks like the mods have struck, without giving explanation  :chuckle:

is this the same that bearpaw asked the forum to not talk about due to legal threat?

Same person yes. There is, was,  a thread. Let's say his reputation is not the best.

From what I understand, he bought or leased the property directly across the canyon from my inlaws.

I am not sure if I would say that is 100% correct.

I think it's up to each individual to decide what their opinion of an outfitter is.  I doubt that there is any outfitter in the state that has made every customer and individual they encounter in the field 100% happy.  Does that make them a bad outfitter?  Not necessarily.  If there tends to be more bad interaction than good or pattern of bad behavior starts to show then you have to decide for yourself if you think they are a good or bad outfitter.

Everyone can have a bad day, when it becomes the norm, that is when buyer should beware.

It seems the best way to get honest information on any particular outfitter, would be to post on the forum asking for opinions, and request that people send those via private message.  I don't know, it does make it rather difficult to get information though, when you're not even allowed to post the name of the outfitter.   :dunno:
