Clockum and fire

Looking at the fire map, it appears some of the Clockum along the Columbia may have burned.

Yep, it's been burning south of the Malaga area, and there's a couple on the other side of the river around Quincy. It's getting to where I just expect to see the colockum on fire every summer now.

My friends lost all of their pasture.  It was still going pretty good over toward Ephrata when I talked to them yesterday.

It's going pretty good now I have relatives in quincy  that were evacuated on Wednesday.

I am friends with families up Moses Coulee and pretty much everything that could burn off has burned off, so they are pretty safe at this point.  I was talking with one of them Wednesday evening on the way home from work.  Their pasture is all burned off though and that is a huge issue.  So much water this winter and spring that the cheatgrass was waist high when I was over there a week and a half ago and now that it is dry it is a wildfire waiting for a spark.  The upside is that there was a lot of really big sage in the side coulees and that made them pretty tough to get up into, a lot of that is burned off.
