Looks like the tags that I put into the Rockfish that I catch incidentally.  I would guess it is a problem beaver that was moved from somewhere.

I'm pretty sure it's a piercing. Did you trap that beaver in King Co.? Pretty common there.

I haven't personally seen one, but I hear that it's pretty common now a days to get your Beaver pierced.  :chuckle:

Is that some kind of RFID tag or can you read a number?

Isn't it illegal to release into the wild any animal you've trapped?  :dunno:

Where did you catch it?  It is no longer illegal to relocate beavers on the westside.  New legislation passed this past session.

Loki what is a spaghetti tag ?

Just a stiff plastic tag that can be color coded or have writing on it to tell you who to contact. It looks like a piece of spaghetti. It will have a Thin 'T' on the end that goes through the skin and then turns to prevent backing out, like a clothing tag.

OK this is important.  Are there any WDFW Enforcement (Game Wardens) on here that can confirm and elaborate on this? If not yet this would be a great topic for a WDFW person to brief us on at the Rendezvous.

1. If we can relocate beavers, do we still need a permit to do it?
2. Where does WDFW want beaver relocated to?
3. Are there any areas that WDFW or WSTA assess NEEDS beaver right now?
4.  If anyone on the East-side is actually willing to PAY for live beaver transplants can we accept any compensation for the service of transplanting them?
