Hearing Protection for Dogs
« on: October 12, 2017, 04:36:43 PM »
Who equips their dog with hearing protection while shooting?

Looking for recommendations for larger breeds.  My pup is an American Akita, should be about 100lbs full grown.

For hunting or just target shooting?
Akita size you could just use the orange ear plugs. Compress them and let them expand to ear canal dimensions. Just remember to remove after!!
I would think these would help with Cheat grass as well???

Not for hunting, just target shooting on the property.

They don't live quite long enough to really have issues like humans. but, be kind when shooting over a dog. They'll be deaf whether they are a hunting dog or not after 9-10 years old. They chose what they want to hear at that point if their hearing is good or not.

worst thing you usually see is guys who buy those doggy blinds then set the dog in front of the guns. Dumb basses...
