Stumps and Teachermans NE WA line
« on: December 18, 2017, 11:00:30 AM »
Deer season has finished and we have had a chance to get a few beaver so we got our cat line started and it hasnt taken long to start connecting! Here are a couple cats from this weekend. Only one pic of the second cat. I got it in a text from my dad this morning since I'm at work. He sent an awesome video but cant figure out how to post it. The last pic is from the cat in the trap today, cat #2. You can see video on my insta @cmb_ak. Thinking of doing a double mount fighting.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Congrats on a couple of nice cats. Curious to know what you have on the floor of your trap? Looks like it might be a deer hide? What are you using for bait?
It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.

You may just be one person in this world. But you may be the world to just one person.

we started with the hide and some scraps from this years deer, then added a bit of beaver for bait.
I've slowed down enough in my old age to finally let the game catch up to me

that was a chunk of deer hide that was rolled up and frozen with wire around it to tie up in the back of the trap. After you get a cat with that setup they will shred the hide. I just put it behind the pan at that point with a chunk of beaver and use the shredded hair to cover the bottom of the trap. Plus they will crap everywhere in it. At that point its a dynamite setup.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.
