9wt is fine. 2 hander, depending on the river is really nice.

i don't see the need for anything bigger, especially in the 2 handed 13' long variety.

I worked in Russia in the 1990's and managed to get out to the remote areas adn do quite a bit of fishing.

Fished in Siberia area North of Norilsk and caught quite a few taimen. Biggerst one went over 60 lbs. Saw many bigger.Awesome fish. Caught a few smaller ones on a fly rod (10 wt) throwing big streamers

More importantly, they have giant gobi and altai argali sheep there...  Maybe I should make a "cast and snap" trip...  I just looked up airfare and it is 2k per person.  Ouch.
