First buck on the new homestead
« on: September 07, 2018, 09:57:38 PM »
Shot this buck with my bow a few days ago.  21 yard shot and double lung.  Heck of a drag out, biggest black tail I have ever harvested.     Son had a blast helping me find the deer!

Congrats on a great deer.

So this was on your property?

That makes it even better.

Thanks for the comments guys!  Yes it has a crab claw, and yes that is from my land.  My son is 7 years old and this makes his 4th successful time with me on a deer hunt.  He is quite the trooper for sticking it out finding the deer in the dark.  Now I know why I usually hunt in the AM :chuckle:  First and last PM hunt for me, still picking thorns out of my arms and legs.   :chuckle:  Dropped him off at a local Taxi and cant wait to see the results.  Asked for a the full sneak looking to the left so it can go on the opposite side of my San Juan buck from last year.  Sorry for the late replies, was out trying to kill a elk, and looks like another year of tag soup for me :'(
