How durable is the kuiu chugach stuff?

3 years of normal hunt8ng and fishing use and no issues for me.

I prefer my wool but if I know its gonna straight pour I will wear my First Lite Stormtight gear.  it is very comfortable and light and keeps me dry. It is some of the quietest "raingear" I've used but is still twice as loud as wool.

For the guys asking about mid price gear i'd be looking at the non-hunting brands and shopping sales on Backcountry or Moosejaw and other similar sites. Lots of good deals to be had on good gear from brands like Marmot, Outdoor Research or Mountain Hardwear. look for goretex with a minimum of 2.5 layers, preferably 3, and waterproof rating of over 20,000 mm and you will find some pretty good stuff for fairly affordable. I think lots of guys just aren't realistic with their expectations of raingear due to prices these days. It can't be breathable AND fully waterproof AND tough AND quiet AND light. There is a give and take for each quality just gotta decide which factors are most important to you

Good advice.bim very happy with my kuiu gear but I would strongly consider other non hunting brand gear next go around

I have the Yukon pants, jacket, gaiters and gloves and run merino wool under it for the top and the Teton stretch woven pants..best investment I have made, the wool wicks the moisture off my body and the rain gear breathes well and keeps me bone dry. I hunt the westside jungle and kuiu has me hooked for life. I won't waste another dime on the cheap stuff anymore even if this stuff is expensive.

Gage makes a pretty decent rain jacket.about 125 at whistle workwear. Not hunting gear but it'll keep you dry.

I use fleece until it is raining hard, then switch the a Grundens Petrus 762 Hooded Waterproof Shirt and Columbia Men's Rebel Roamer Pant.
Both I have had for years and have held up very well, on the wetside and east side in snow.
