A few years back they deemed it (socially unacceptable). What ever the heck that means. I used to have a Catahoula Cur mix that i used as a decoy dog and it broke my heart when I had to turn him into a lap dog. I have a purebred Catahoula female now and I sure wish I could put her to work, They make a great decoy dog.I can understand using them as a chase dog, BUT a decoy dog has nothing to do with them harming a coyote . Its more Washington state B.S. It pisses me off that i cannot take the dog calling with me as I can no longer hear rattle snakes.Maybe I could just say she is a service dog

WDFW decided it wasn't socially acceptable. There was discussion about it on this message board. I'll see if a search will find those old threads.
The reason i am for it is because their are a lot of illegal hound hunters out their and believe me, i have run across a few while out in the woods, and when i ask them what they would be hunting with hounds in Washington, it never fails i always get COYOTES.
