Youth bow advice wanted

What do you get if the kid is left-handed? I'm looking at Cabela's and just seeing compound bows, which I'm assuming is right-handed.

They make them for southpaws, Diamond makes the Infinite edge in left hand

Diamond infinate edge, the boy loves it and it will grow with them

this one-at least for my son has worked great for a lot of years he is 16 now and just now going to upgrade to an adult bow

Diamond Infinite Edge is on my shopping list for my oldest's birthday.  I just have to check out the local archery shop to see what's what there.

Everyone in my family is left eye dominate. I purchased a Mission Craze for my daughter. They have a lot of adjustability, and set properly I could shoot it and hunt.

Any relative experience for a noob between the Diamond Infinite Edge and the Hoyt Fireshot or reasons not to go with the Hoyt Fireshot as a first bow for my boy?  He'll be seven soon and about average height if not a bit lanky.

18 to 28 inches of draw length adjustment and either 14 to 41 pounds or 19 to 51 pounds of draw weight adjustment

seems pretty well adjustable for a starter bow.

Camo'd Arrow, which I would like to patronize, is a Hoyt shop, but obviously I would like the most appropriate option for him to begin.

I wouldn't go hog wild on a 7 year old, I did that     They just like to spend time with pop at that age and it doesn't too much matter the quality of their gear. 

I'd rather buy lower end bows more often that's suited to their ages, kids get new bow excitement too

I am not so worried about quality or name so much as the experiences available.  I am a complete archery noob, so I don't know if either has a relative benefit over the other, or whether one would have peculiar drawbacks.  I certainly don't want to sell it in a few years because it is not working out.

I just want him to be able to have something that works and he can grow with.  Secondary to that is patronizing a local shop, even though I might be able to save a few dollars by going through Amazon. 

Not looking for a gold plated bow, however, and the prices seem roughly comparable.

I'll save the cheap stuff (30+ year old recurves) for me.

My daughter is 7 turning 8 at the end of the month, she's outgrowing her little fiberglass bow.  It's a cheapo but she loves shooting it, she goes out and does it all on her own working on her skills.

it's kinda like this one, ambidextrous and cheap, shoots fiberglass arrows and it'll barely stick the arrows in the target.


Her cousin has a slightly bigger bow (I think it's a Bear brave) but she can't pull it back yet, neither can he though and he's a couple years older. 


I'm not sure what her next bow will be, but I'm looking at this one

I do have a youth bow she can hunt with, several actually but one's a lefty and I'm not sure which is which,  it's either a bear cruzer or diamond infinite edge.  both are good hunting bows for young teens.

Why don't I just start her on the diamond?  because the bow is too heavy overall, she'll struggle to hold the riser outstretched and compensate as her arm sags making bad form. 
I want a light weight bow that won't tax her arms too much and keeping good form, building muscle around proper form and posture. 


She's no little dainty thing either, she's 90% for height and bigger than most of the boys, actually I think she may be the 2nd biggest in her class and probably the strongest.

 :yeah:great advice at least I think so! I started the kids on very similar cheap bows and I think it makes them better shooters. I upgraded to the infinite edge when ready to actually bow hunt and that bow worked great and my son got a few animals with it
