I just whipped out a new muskrat trap to be used in deeper channels where I trap. I'll make a quick video tonight to explain why.

3nails: What do you put in these under water rat traps for bait?

Nothing. I experimented with mint toothpaste but found no increase in catch. I set in runs or likely travel routes. Beaver runs are now one of my favorite sets for these larger sets. I'll try to make a video on how I keep the beavers out of the runs if we ever thaw out.

Still waiting for a bit more thaw before resetting the traps so I thought we'd do a little coyote calling. Second stand called in 3 and killed 2 of them. Nasty little buggers.
