Need a new truck
« on: March 15, 2019, 02:20:08 PM »
Looking for opinions on trucks- thinking of a Ford f150 4x4 with extended cab- new or  lightly used. Any opinions on the trucks or dealers would be welcome!
Thanks

Just an FYI, I had a good experience with Titus-Will with my last truck purchase. I got a 2014 2500HD used in 2015 with 125 miles on it when I picked it up, about 5K under blue book.

Personally have a F-150.crew cab with the short.bed that makes for a very comfortable back seat.  Shopped.around and ended up with the best deal at Titus Will. I think you need to think about.what you will be doing the majority of the time with the truck. For me 95 percent of the time is highway driving (and a good percentage of that with 2 or more passengers, hence the roomy back seat). Maybe the other 5 percent of the time is off road hunting or scouting around. F-150 rides great, is very quiet and is the 4th one I've owned. I have a 5x10 utility trailer I hook up when I need more room than the bed offers. Over the years I've owned just about all different makes and have had the best luck with the Ford's. Only takes one lemon to make you shy away from one brand or another and I've had my share of those with some of the others.  I've got 82,000 miles on it now in only the two years since I bought it new-only have had to change oil and get new tires.

I just picked up an 2013 f150 lariat crew cab with 6'6" bed and 3.5l ecoboost motor. I haven't got to really test it but so far so good

Thanks for the replies
It's going to be used for general hauling, driving to Snoqualmie forest hunting, hauling wood, and hay for our cows- we have access to a flat bed trailer for the hay hauling. Don't expect to have passengers too many times, but want to have that option, also for storing/hauling our guns and bows and gear when hunting.Occasionally driving over the pass when visiting our kids in Ellensburg.

I'm a Toyota guy, but since you're already thinking Ford, I won't even try.  Good luck!

I ordered my 2019 (delivered 1/9/19) and so far (3,000 miles) I freaking love it!

3.5L wants to squirt out from underneath you, mid-range is ridiculous.  I opted for the Super Cab due to rarely hauling people.  I also opted for the 8 foot bed and am very very happy I did, my jon boat and kayak don't hang out any farther than when I had my F350 with the 8' bed.  I had to order because I wanted a Lariat and a Lariat with an 8' bed is almost unheard of.

Thing rides awesome, turns tight, remembers up to 10 different trailers and records mileage pulled for each!  The cab is nice and quiet and the ventilated seats have changed my life forever   :chuckle:

And the new fords come with heated tailgates which is a nice option.

You don't need to worry about this option as long as you have friends with Toyotas  :chuckle:
