If someone could invent a camera that doesn’t take 5000 pics of birds I will pay any amount of money for it. Sitting in my bait right now and have been deleting pics for about an hour sorting through them. Guess it helps pass the time but holy carp

I think you're onto something. They've got all that fancy face recognition stuff surely someone could make a program that identifies birds and bears and if it's only birds delete it. You could be a millionaire.

He came in early tonight.  Only reason I didn't hunt tonight is I was concerned with the heat and living off grid I would have no way to take care of the meat until Monday.  But tomorrow night if he comes in early, he's in trouble!!!  :)

Crawled into the stand last night at 4:30.  Wind was perfect.  Didn't make a sound.  No bears.  :)

Do you bate the same locations every year? How did you select the locations?

I do generally run baits in the same spots, they have shifted over the years as i find a little better set up in the same general area.  I look for certain terrain features, I like a spot at the head of a big bowl that a south or southwest wind will blow the scent from my bait up into the bowl.  Something near water if possible.

Every bear needs a mid day snack...then a nap.
