Devastation to life as we no it !!!

Elk season has been over for months , I'm finnally able to force myself into the reality of the truth , and put it on this jikkerbox of hey look at me do stuff broadcasting network ,well here goes,,,,,I didn't hunt this year,but planned a trip up to meet longtime hunting buds up at rimrock for the cerimonial act of the moving pumpkin patch Hubble , missle launcher campaign ,I arrived on the fourth day ,I knew one guy got the unlimited ,lottery award tag , and was excited for him , as I arrived the badge branding , gun totem , pleated pants , no it all officer was pulling out of the road that goes into our spot , he gave me that mental license plate recording wave and I arrived at the camp , things seemed kinda quiet , Wich didn't add up cuz I knew Will was there ,I asked hey any lottery winners in camp ? He said nope ! Not really , I walked around Steve's giant crap called a Ford Raptor and there it was ! A beautiful 3×4 bull hanging in a tree , figgered there should be some celebration around the fire , but Will didn't have his jack Daniels in one hand and America's #1 cash crop smoldering in his other hand thank goodness he doesn't hunt.Gaylord who had the lottery tag was sitting by the fire stairinf at the ground , I new something was up .Evidently fish n feathers fell out of a tree after they hung the critter and administered his array of secretly incriminateing questions and then inspected the animal , he informed Gaylord that he may have a unconsumible carcass ,he took three samples , got contact info . And rushed off to the state labrotory ,I took one look at the mouth of that creature and didn't need a million tax payers to sponsor a lab crew to no that this is a sick animal, I suddenly was stricken by the somber feel of camp that day ,I no that Gaylord had done all the hard hunting all his life , just like I had , and devistation set in me just like the day I was told I need to start my cancer battle ,I new the day was comeing but I didn't think my hunting days were so close to ending as I had grown to no them. Fees ,lottery's ,crooks , creeps , crowds , big ugly trucks ,Jeep clubs , coderoy camoes , woodsy idiots , fires ,and last but not least , Christian rock shows and now the need for desease inhanced scopes , so we will no if the critter is eatable before launching a missle into it . I left the next day , but the depression , devistation and saddness was overwhelming and I found my self parked by a fruit stand in Naches ,after all the crap a guy goes through to get behind a missle launcher , only to find out his lifetime achiement has been full filled , but with desease !!! Biggest decision I've made in my hunting life is to say it's just not a good investment anymore , and I won't be going out hunting anymore , I have sold my wairs and I'm starting to race r.c. trucks , the only desease there is the loosing , I no folks are GUNNA skiff at my decision and say hey u just need to get up high enuff to get away or something wimsical like that but noatter how much of a superior hunter that war inside your head makes u believe your the best , that critter you and your family are consumeing may just consume you , it's just another giant thing to add to the list of ingredients that makes us all wanna be hunters , cuz if deseased meat isn't a deturant go kill something , but don't forget your lab coat !!! And peetree dish ,I'm very saddened and devistated .

Good read Cryder. I understud most of it. Heck of thing to have happen. The one thing I will say is with any food, store bought, restaurant served, caught from the big blue or killed from the deep woods....it all has a chance of making ya sick. Do it not always for the food but for the experience and the chance to enjoy the outdoors. If hunting was always about the food a lot of people would starve.

I hear you, Cryder, we are facing a lot of new challenges as American hunters, including wildlife disease.  But the hunting community helped turn things around for American game populations once (1880s-1950s), and we can do it again, no matter what the specific challenge is.  RMEF passed the 6 million acre conservation mark a couple years ago, for example.  There's a lot of work ahead, as America creeps towards 350 million human beings (third of a billion people...).  But with hard work I think we can craft a brighter future for American game animals and for hunting.  So don't give up.  We need your voice (and you do have a unique style which we all appreciate- I mean that  ).   

Also, what was the exact disease or infection that made this elk inedible?

I've been told wolves only eat the sick and injured animals, so disease won't be an issue in the near future.

I'm not done getting out in the forests , for sure , I've always been about getting out there , heck I drove 3 hours to get there and I didn't have a weapon at all , as for the future of hunting ,,, sure allot is being done to save our heritage , the problem is exactly what has been mentioned here, it's the fact that human population is to blame and will be the reason it continues to get worse , you see Lewis , there is to many foolish clowns out there that frankly Scarlet don't give a dam or just to brain dead to care , the problem is the stupid and ignerant are also multiplying , I'll be out there but I will be armed with a Hubble scope mounted on a camera lens , I don't think Mr. Pleated pants no it all can get me into court for that , or stop me and ask all his incriminateing questions either , to me it just isn't a good investment anymore , I new that couple years ago but reality slapped me into the reality of all of this !As for the ifected carcass , all I no or want to no is it's a big word , and the king of the forests have eaten it by now , Gaylord took the rack home , but to this day it feels nothing like a trophy to him or me , just a sad reminder.

Saying or spelling will never change the facts ! I graduated with almost the highest grade point average in my class , I also won the g.s.l. football championship twice , and I was told by school detector that I was a great example , but nevermind my schooling records cuz the woodsy creeps and criminals don't need school to ruin our lands and opertunities forget my tactfulness for crap sakes and take a criminal to jail y don't u !! Jeeeeeeze !
