Brake & Rotor Adv.

I need to replace my brakes and rotors on my 2007 Chevrolet 3/4 ton I do a fair amount of towing horse trailers and camp trailers. Looking for some advice on what brands work the best.

Coach put some good rotors and pads on my 06 gmc a few years ago, they have worked great. I’d # or @ or what ever you need to do to get his attention.

I just did my 04 2500hd and bought the bendix severe duty coated rotors.  They were the nicest rotors I've ever seen out of the box and I've done hundreds of brake jobs.  Bought some centric posi quiet ceramic brake pads to go with them.  Very happy.

Beings my 06 2500hd with Duramax has 224,000 miles on original brakes and still going strong I will be putting AC Delco on again when the time comes.

Yeah as much as we all dog on manufacturers of vehicles from time to time, there are serious standards for OE products. For anything like brake components, suspension parts, etc. I usually don't stray from OE.  They've got a lot more time and reputation to commit to developing parts that will go the distance compared to most after market competitors. 

That being said, keep an eye out for recalls

If you want to go above OEM, NAPA and other mediocre crap, skip it all and go EBC brakes.



Sounds like you might like EBC Yellowstuff truck brakes.  I've been buying EBC exclusively because I was impressed with their brakes and quality.   You'll pay more though.


I've done quite a few of my own brakes jobs and for my family, I'm not a certified mechanic. 

I haven't tried bendex.

I've great success with Napa brakes and rotors as well as other parts. I needed a fuel pump for a Jeep Comanche called the dealer $120 after shipping 10 -12 days to get the pump, went to Napa they said $65 and I could have it the next day. So the next day went to pick it up, standard Napa box but inside was a OEM Mopar pump.

Go to summit online and order powerstop z36 truck pads and  powerstop cross drilled slotted XPR rotors. The pads are carbon/ceramic with stainless back shims and new hardware. The rotors are g3000 steel which is the best steel used for brakes. They drill and slot them rotors and bevel the edges which removes machining stress cracks and allows them to be turned laterr on if you need to. Then they dip them in zinc dychromate to protect against rust. You should be able to buy everything all the way around for less than $500 shipped. You won't be sorry
