Kitsap Bear
« on: October 08, 2019, 09:05:24 AM »
My family owns about 25 acres in Kitsap and my wife and I are in the process on building a house on part of it.  A bear keeps showing up on my game cameras, and I have seen it in person a couple times during the summer.  My wife is not impressed with the idea of a bear walking through the yard with young kids, so I picked up a bear tag this weekend and I'll take it out if I get a shot before the end of the season.

I'm not much of a meat eater so if I do happen to get him I'll be reaching out for assistance to process and give away the meat.

That is a nice bear.  Good luck getting him!  If there are any apple trees close by he will be hitting them pretty hard.

Funny you should mention apple trees......we have a few old apple trees within a fenced in chicken pen area.  This past weekend I found dig marks at two locations on the perimeter fence, and the 4' fence was pushed down to about the 2' mark where the bear climbed over to clean up apples that were falling off the tree.  Found a pile of scat in the chicken pen under one of the apple trees also.
